We’re not ashamed to admit that we were massive O.C fans back in the day – when Seth and Summer’s on-off relationship kept us glued to the TV every week, and Mischa Barton was only a little bit loopy on-screen, rather than in real life.
Now Rachel Bilson has returned to the small screen in Hart of Dixie – premiering on really next week – a show starring New York heart surgeon Zoe Hart, who must adapt to rural life when she moves from the city to become a small southern town doctor.
Fans of the OC (that’s us!) will also be pleased to know that there are some comparisons between Summer Roberts and Zoe Hart.
“Summer was a really funny character,” said Rachel. “She was also very strong willed, and she and Zoe are very similar in that respect.”
The show – which is created by Josh Schwartz, the man behind the O.C and executive producer of Gossip Girl – follows Zoe as she struggles to adjust to the ‘Deep South’ way of life.
“It’s like its own country in a way,” said Rachel. “People really know you down there; they know each other’s neighbours and there’s so much love and soul in the food.
“There’s a nice feeling all over the South when it comes to taking care of each other and taking care of neighbours. If you compare it to New York, the South is a lot more of an emotional kind of place.”
We’ve also been tipped off that Rachel’s character Zoe becomes involved in a bit of a love triange, with lawyer George Tucker and ‘bad-boy’ Wade Kinsella both vying for her affections.
Well, that’s settled then, we’ll definitely be tuning in – nothing we love better than a good old triangular love dilemma.
